BOPP Film
BOPP film is short for biaxially orientated polypropylene film, which is one of the most common print substrates in flexible packaging.
BOPP film can be produced using either a tubular process or a tenter frame process. In the tenter frame process, a thick extruded sheet is heated to its softening point and then mechanically stretched by 300–400%. So BOPP film have many advantages, including

Vacuum metalizing is also safer than other processes, like chrome plating, because it doesn’t require mixing chromium with cyanide. So VMPET film is a good film for water-boiling sterilization bags.
LDPE Film
LDPE film is short for low-density polyethylene film, which is the most commoniy used inner sealing film for multi-layer flexible packaging in various applications.
LDPE, or low-density polyethylene, is a thermoplastic polymer that is a member of the polyethylene family of plastics. It is known for its flexibility, toughness, transparency, and corrosion resistance. LDPE is also lightweight, easy to fabricate, and has good chemical and impact resistance. LDPE is nontoxic, non-contaminating, and has a high degree of break resistance. It’s also lightweight, corrosion resistant, and has good chemical and impact resistance. LDPE is often used in packaging materials, such as milk pouches and food wrappers because it’s a good moisture barrier and keeps products fresh. It’s also used in orthotics and prosthetics.

Thickness
As you can see below picture, the overall thickness of this spout pouch is 0.120 mm, which equals 120 microns for this laminated foil.

Please note, BOPP/LDPE foil structure should not be taken to convert standup spout bags, as it may be too soft to present a good standing profile. In particular, BOPP/LDPE is so bad for box bottom pouch.
Mechanical Property
The spout package will protect the chilli sauce product during filling, transit, and distribution. Under the emergency circumstances of unexpected shock in delivery or packages falling off the goods shelf, the spout package will never be allowed to break. Can you ever imagine the leaked chilli sauce contaminating the cartons or the floor?
We put the mechanical property of this 450ml chilli sauce standup sachet on our top priority in our manufacturing plant. Serious measures are taken in our QC system, to assure each order is finalized with the expected result.
To be short, a drop test of a filled package is one of the most reliable ways to check if the package may burst under sudden sharp forces.
Here, we will going to fill 450ml water into this bag, perform the drop test from 1.6 meters high, 3 times, and check if it breaks.
When the volume goes bigger, there will be higher requirements for the mechanical strength of this spout bag, and we may need to change the foil structure, like PA/VMPET/LDPE for packs around 500ml, NY/LDPE or PET/NY/LDPE for packs around 1000ml.
At present, we are outputting the standup spout pouch with a maximum volume of 5 liters, mainly for restaurant purposes. This 5 litre spout pouch is of excellent bag strength, and you can have a further understanding through the below video to show our drop test.

Barrier Performance
Based Upon Past Experience, all the bags and sachets for chilli sauce should be light-shielding to protect the formulas work as expected. Because strong light will decrease taste of the chilli sauce, and some chilli sauce may deteriorate. Chilli sauce products will be kept away from the strong light to stay function-active as long as possible.
In the above picture, we are producing for our chilli sauce customers, which is fully opaque, and keeps the product in a fine situation even under daylight conditions.
Furthermore, WVTR (short for water vapor transmission rate) and OTR (Oxygen Transmission Rate) are evaluated for this laminated foil, to decide if this spout doypack is finally meeting the requirements of each customer.
